Trump Swaps Hillary's First Lady Portrait for His Red, White, and Blue Meme

U.S. President Donald Trump has taken a swipe at his longtime foe, Hillary Clinton , by removing her portrait from the White House and replacing it with his own . In a photo posted to X, Trump's red, white, and blue portrait can be seen hanging between former First Lady Laura Bush and another first lady.

"New pictures, including one of ⁦@realDonaldTrump, on a White House wall where ⁦@HillaryClinton's portrait used to hang next to the portrait of Laura Bush," the caption reads. The photo, which lacks the size and elegance of the two surrounding portraits, has been the subject of many jokes amongst X users.

"So he's a first lady," one user laughed. "Well, he's definitely feminine enough," a second person giggled.

"Is he saying that he’s a First Lady," a third user joked. "While MAGA might eat this up, all it does is prove Trump is a fragile, thin-skinned manchild who cosplays as a tough-guy alpha. Not to mention he’s tacky AF," a fourth person slammed.

The picture of Trump initially appeared in the White House in April next to former Secretary of State Clinton. It was reported that the photo was unveiled during the annual White House Egg Roll.

Trump's portrait, which has been described as "hideous," is hung in a permanent location just outside the East Wing of the White House, where First Lady Melania Trump has her offices. Visitors taking the official White House tour pass by that location.

A White House staffer reportedly called the new painting "another iconic portrait" and told The Daily Mail that "Trump was re-elected after two failed impeachment hoaxes, dozens of criminal charges, and multiple assassination attempts. He can hang art wherever he wants!"

This newest painting comes after the White House stirred controversy after it replaced a portrait of former President Barack Obama with a painting depicting the infamous Associated Press photograph of Trump pumping his fist after the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania last year.

Trump's photo shows then-candidate Trump bloodied after the bullet grazed his ear, raising his fist while being surrounded by Secret Service agents. The image, along with the president's chant of "fight, fight, fight,” would later become a staple of Trump's second bid for the presidency.

In a brief video on X, the White House showed the photo's new position alongside the caption “Some new artwork at the White House.” A White House official told The Irish Star that the portrait was painted by Marc Lipp, and was a gift to the president from Andrew Pollock to the White House via Blue Gallery.

It was also noted by the curator that, during his first term, Trump reportedly moved the portraits of former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. NBC reported that Trump did not get an official portrait during his first term in office, a matter in which the Biden administration referred questions to the White House Historical Association.
