Musk Launches "Snake" Tirade Against Trump Adviser Over Security Clearance Controversy
Elon Musk might have cooled his public feud with President Donald Trump, but he's far from done aiming at Trump's inner circle. Musk lashed out at Sergio Gor, a top Trump adviser, labeling him a "snake" Wednesday night on his social media platform X.
Musk's fiery comment came in response to a New York Post story alleging that Gor, who directs the White House personnel office, hasn't properly submitted the necessary paperwork for a permanent security clearance.
This claim raises eyebrows, as Gor is reportedly overseeing the screening process for thousands of White House staffers himself.

However, the White House is pushing back.
David Warrington, White House counsel, asserted that "Mr. Gor is fully compliant with all applicable ethical and legal obligations. His security clearance is active, any insinuation he doesn’t maintain a clearance is false.”
Vice President JD Vance also came to Gor's defense, praising his "effort to ensure committed, principled America First advocates staff the President’s government" and adding that he's "done a great job, and will continue to do so.”
The public spat highlights long-simmering tensions between Musk and Gor. Their relationship reportedly soured after a March Cabinet meeting where Musk clashed with other Cabinet members over agency budget cuts. This led Trump to clarify that agency heads, not Musk, held authority over their departments.

The situation escalated significantly when Gor reportedly facilitated the termination of Jared Isaacman's nomination for NASA head, a pick Musk had strongly advocated for.
This decision appeared to be the "last straw" for Musk, who then launched a series of social media attacks against the president and his "Big Beautiful Bill." At the time, Trump himself pointed to the Isaacman decision as a motivating factor in Musk's outburst. RELATED: Musk Backtracks: Tesla CEO Regrets “Too Far” Trump Posts

Despite the dramatic public fallout, tensions between Trump and Musk have reportedly calmed. Trump has since stated he has "no hard feelings," and Musk even issued an apology on X, admitting he "went too far." The White House, it seems, was keen to downplay the spat, concerned it was distracting from broader administration priorities.
Now, with Musk turning his ire towards Gor, it appears the drama surrounding the former administration's internal dynamics is far from over.
Will this "snake" accusation reignite the fires, or will it remain a solitary strike?
