Trump Stunned by Sharp Question From Pro-MAGA Reporter in Oval Office: "I Like You!"

President Donald Trump showered appreciation on a reporter for asking him a “good question” during an Oval Office photo op, asking “Who are you with?” and telling her, “I like you!”

Trump held a 15-minute event Wednesday with the Juventus Football Club, a powerhouse Italian soccer team in town for a FIFA Club World Cup match they would go on to win .

The president answered questions during the event, including from one of the Trump-friendly outlets that have become ubiquitous in the White House-controlled press pool rotation this term.

In this case, it was Frontlines White House Correspondent Monica Paige , whose outlet is the media branch of Charlie Kirk’s pro-Trump PAC Turning Point USA .

Paige earned praise for herself and Kirk by asking Trump to analyze his “success” on the border:

MONICA PAIGE: On the southern border, you’ve had record low numbers for the month of May, 95 apprehensions, zero releases, compared to that of the previous administration exactly a year ago, so more than 60,000 releases.

What do you attribute that success to?

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: I like you, who are you with?

MONICA PAIGE: Turning Point USA, sir.

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Well, they’re very good! Turning Point. Charlie, very good! See, that’s what I call a good question, fellas!

One out of 10, John. One out 10.

But that’s a really good question.

No, we had record good numbers on the border. And people are coming in, but they have to come in legally, like some of these guys behind me. They have to coming in legally.

And if they come in illegally, we want them. They have say they love America, they love our country.

And if can’t say that, we don’t want them.

Hours earlier, Trump raged at a CNN reporter for asking a question he didn’t think was good until pro-MAGA Brian Glenn asked it too .
