Tottenham Players have been left enraged by the dismissal. Ange Postecoglou , according to a report.

The Aussie was mercilessly dismissed on the two-year mark since his appointment and just 16 days following his guidance in securing the team's first European title in 41 years. Thomas Frank of Brentford is the leading candidate to replace him.

Postecoglou returned from a holiday in Greece to learn his fate and Spurs issued a statement to explain the decision had been taken after a review of performances and 'significant reflection'.

Chairman Daniel Levy conducted an evening meeting following the last match. Premier League Season, a 4-1 loss at home due to Brighton , merely five days following their elation from defeating Manchester United in the Europa League final in Bilbao.

Later, Levy traveled to the Bahamas and had a meeting with members of the Lewis family, who are the primary stakeholders of the club.

.Spurs right back Pedro Porro took to Instagram and posted three photos of himself and Postecoglou along with a heartfelt message. It read: 'Thank you for everything, boss,' Porro's message began. 'For mentoring me early on, helping me settle into the club, and trusting me out on the pitch.

'I'll always be grateful for the way you led us, defended us, and kept us going through all the highs and lows.

'Above everything, you gave us one of the greatest moments in the club's history and for that, you'll always be celebrated. Wishing you all the very best, boss'.

Striker Richarlison added: 'Mister, massive thanks for helping me out and believing in me during one of the trickiest periods of my career and my life.

'Everyone who loves the Spurs will remember that Big Ange always bags trophies in his second season. We've made history! Cheers and good luck on your journey! I'll always be rooting for you'.

Fellow striker Dominic Solanke subsequently penned: 'Thanks for bringing me to this fantastic club, thanks for giving us such a splendid title.'

'I'll never forget our conversation before I signed; together we turned a dream into reality! Wishing you all the best as you embark on your next great adventure.'

Previously, Postecoglou released his own statement where he expressed his pride in bringing European triumphs to "one of England's legendary football clubs."

The statement said: 'Upon reflecting on my tenure as Manager of Tottenham Hotspur, the predominant feeling I have is one of pride.'

'The opportunity to lead one of England's historic football clubs and bring back the glory it deserves will live with me for a lifetime. Sharing that experience with all those who truly love this club and seeing the impact it had on them is something I will never forget.

That evening in Bilbao marked the peak of two years filled with intense effort, commitment, and an unshakable faith in a vision. Numerous obstacles had to be surmounted, along with all the distractions that come from attempting to achieve what others deemed impossible.

We've also established groundwork that ensures this club shouldn’t have to endure another 17-year wait for their subsequent triumph. I hold great confidence in these players and am aware of the considerable untapped potential and development still ahead of them.

I genuinely wish to express my gratitude to those who form the very essence of the club—the fans. Despite some challenging periods, I sensed their desire for my success, which provided me with all the inspiration necessary to keep moving forward.
