Tottenham Fans Unite: "Stay" Echoes After Postecoglou's Sacking Post-Trophy Win

Tottenham Fans of Hotspur have shown touching homages to Ange Postecoglou following the dismissal of the Australian by the club.
Tottenham fans hurried to social media to convey their thanks to Postecoglou for providing them with the 'most incredible evening they ever had' following his guidance that led the team from North London to this achievement. Europa League triumph last month - their initial piece of silverware since 2008.
Brennan Johnson scored the only goal of the game against Manchester United in Bilbao as Spurs lifted their first European trophy in 41 years.
The victory means that despite enduring a miserable domestic campaign, with the club finishing in 17th place, they will compete in next season's Champions League .
Pressure was building on the 59-year-old throughout the season but he silenced critics by ending Tottenham's trophy drought.
He suggested he might stay with the club for the upcoming season, joyfully informing supporters that 'season three surpasses season two' during their Europa League triumph celebration.



However, chairman Daniel Levy along with the board has decided to remove Postecoglou from his position, precisely two years since he was appointed.
Supporters have since taken to social media to pay their 'eternal thanks' for delivering one of Spurs' 'greatest nights'.
'Thanks, Ange Postecoglou, for giving me the most incredible night as a supporter of this football club. A leader who took risks and succeeded. I’ll be cheering for you forever, buddy,' a fan shared on X.
Another added: 'We were getting rejected by Feyenoord managers when Ange came in. He saw us Kane weeks after.
Nevertheless, he supported the team at each press conference and gave us our most memorable night in 41 years, even though we had only signed one new senior player during the summer transfer window.
I will always be grateful.
A supporter commented: "Taking risks means acting on them—and Ange Postecoglou certainly took that leap."

The ex-Celtic manager had a strong beginning at Spurs, yet their performance declined toward the close of his initial campaign, resulting in them failing to secure a spot in the Champions League.
In the previous season, the player from Australia has had to manage with several key starters unavailable due to an exceptional spate of injuries, severely impacting his backline.
The first-choice center-backs, Cristian Romero and Micky Van De Velde, missed considerable portions of the season due to injuries, along with Dejan Kulusevski, Destiny Udogie, Dominic Solanke, and James Maddison.
He had previously butted heads with the Spurs supporters during his tenure, until he won them over with their first historic trophy victory.
He said he would 'never understand' fans who wanted Spurs to lose to City - a result which would prevent arch-rivals Arsenal from taking the lead in the Premier League title race, last May.
Postecoglou also came in for abuse after appearing to taunt fans in the stands after Tottenham scored a goal - which was later ruled out - against Chelsea in their March Premier League meeting.



The head coach was booed loudly by travelling supporters in Stamford Bridge, but remained adamant in the aftermath that he had only been trying to gee up the crowd as he cupped his hand to his ear.
The mood in north London had grown increasingly sour, with Postecoglou hitting out at the board in a recent press conference, implying that he was taking the lion's share of the blame for Tottenham's failings.
However, he left with a heroic reputation, having broken Tottenham's lengthy title drought.
Thomas Frank is the frontrunner for replacing him. While Tottenham has explored other options, such as Fulham manager Marco Silva, Frank appears to be the most promising choice among them.
