Top 10 Highest-Paid Football Managers Globally in 2025: Surprise Spot for Moyes Over Luis Enrique
Three Premier League managers feature in the 10 highest-paid managers in world football in 2025 – and there are a couple of surprise entries too.
Surprisingly, only six of the top 10 highest-paid managers are currently managing in Europe, with the other four coaches making serious money elsewhere.
Based on recent data, we've evaluated the top 10 highest-earning managers for the year 2025 and listed them according to their annual salary.
10. Carlo Ancelotti – $11 million annually
Making more money than Thomas Tuchel, Lionel Scaloni, and Mauricio Pochettino, Ancelotti tops the list as the best-paid international coach for 2025.
He has recently departed from his position at Real Madrid, where he was reportedly paid £9.6 million annually, and accepted a modest salary reduction to become the manager of Brazil.
With Ancelotti at the helm, we’re excited to see what Brazil have in store for us at the 2026 World Cup.
9. Jose Mourinho – £9.2 million annually
Mourinho is by far the highest-paid manager in Turkey, taking home a weekly salary of just shy of £200,000.
The 62-year-old individual still has one year left on their contract with Fenerbahce, during which they will earn an additional £9.2 million.
8. Matthias Jaissle – £9.6 million annually
At 37 years old, Jaissle is undoubtedly the youngest manager on this list.
The coach from Germany put together an impressive stint at Red Bull Salzburg and was subsequently recruited by the prominent Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli in 2023.
He recently won his first silverware with the Saudi club, winning the AFC Champions League Elite earlier this year.
7. Luis Enrique – £9.6million per year
Following PSG’s heroics in the Champions League, Enrique will probably be demanding a pay rise soon, and rightly so.
The Spanish mentor has entirely transformed the atmosphere at PSG and was instrumental in securing their maiden UCL championship.
"The first thing Luis Enrique said to me was, 'You will witness your team, the club, and your squad play exceptional football. You will love it,'” PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi stated to journalists earlier this year.
That’s exactly what he stated… 'My aim is to execute an aggressive offensive strategy,' and that’s precisely what he communicated to us, and he has delivered on his promise. He undoubtedly ranks as the finest coach globally.
6. David Moyes – £12.5 million annually
Maybe the biggest surprise on this list.
Moyes is a top-tier Premier League manager, but it was quite unexpected to find out that he's now being paid more than Arne Slot, Unai Emery, and Eddie Howe.
Given that £12.5 million is merely his starting salary, he probably takes home significantly more when bonuses are included as well.
5. Stefano Pioli – £15.5million per year
Al-Nassr have had difficulty finding the appropriate manager for their multimillion-pound initiative.
The club have had six different managers in the last four years and now Pioli is being tipped to leave the club this summer.
He’d be walking away from a mammoth yearly wage of £15.5million, but has been rumoured to be returning to Italy to manage Fiorentina ahead of next season. Watch this space.
4. Mikel Arteta -£15.6million per year
The Spanish coach signed a new three-year deal with Arsenal back in December, which made him the fourth-highest-paid manager in world football.
Since arriving at Arsenal in 2019, the improvements that he’s made have been obvious to see. However, he’ll be desperate to get his hands on some silverware next year.

3. Pep Guardiola – $20.7 million annually
In 2024, Guardiola held the position of the second-highest-paid manager in global football, however, he has now slipped to third place.
He signed a new contract with Manchester City back in November last year, set to expire in the summer of 2027.
It should be noted as well that Guardiola is the second-most highly paid individual at the club, coming right after Erling Haaland, who receives an annual salary of £27.3 million.
2. Simone Inzaghi – £21.8 million annually
Following his agreement to depart from Inter and sign with Al-Hilal, one of Saudi Arabia’s top clubs, Inzaghi has secured the position of being the second-most highly paid manager in global soccer.
He will earn £21.8 million annually in Saudi Arabia, which amounts to £454,000 each week.
His initial assignment will be to lead Al-Hilal through their group stage at the Club World Cup, where they will compete against Real Madrid, RB Salzburg, and Pachuca.
1. Diego Simeone – £25.9 million annually
Having been at Atletico Madrid since 2011, Simeone is one of the longest-serving managers in world football and he’s also the highest-paid.
As a player, he won the league and Copa del Rey with Atletico in the nineties and he’s been even more successful as a manager.
Battling against Barcelona and Real Madrid every year is no easy feat, but Simeone always finds a way to make his side competitive.
He’s still under contract with the club until 2027 and still seems as motivated as ever in the job.
