Pineville police investigating hit and run involving pedestrian on Hwy 28 East

PINEVILLE, La. (KALB) - A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Highway 28 East in Pineville around 9:09 p.m. on May 21, according to the Pineville Police Department.

PPD said when officers arrived at the scene, a female pedestrian was found lying in the road, conscious and alert. The pedestrian said she was trying to cross Hwy 28 East to reach a bus stop when a vehicle hit her.

She was unable to provide a description of the vehicle, which fled the scene before police arrived.

The pedestrian had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
