Organization cancels festival over fears of immigration enforcement

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — A Latin American organization has canceled a Dubois County festival over fears of immigration enforcement.

Thousands were expected to attend Festival Latino 2025 this fall celebrating culture, cuisine and unity.

The Latin American Association Of Southern Indiana says the detainment of people without criminal records and deportations without due process have increased the risk for many people in the community and this gathering could put many in jeopardy.

Organizers say canceling is not retreating but an act of care for those impacted.
