Australia Confirms White-Ball Series Tour of Pakistan Early Next Year, Says CA Chief

Pakistan, June 6 -- Cricket Australia (CA) has announced that their national squad will visit Pakistan at the beginning of next year for a white-ball series. This trip forms part of the collaborative efforts between Cricket Australia and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). In remarks made during an online press conference earlier this week, CA CEO Todd Greenberg stated that negotiations are progressing positively.

According to the ICC’s Future Tours Programme (FTP) for 2025-27, Australia is set to play in Pakistan during February-March 2026. This tour will consist of three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Nevertheless, Greenburg disclosed that attempts are underway to add an additional white-ball series earlier in 2026. Both cricket boards are collaborating to identify a feasible time slot for these games.

Greenburg mentioned that Australia's prior tour of Pakistan in 2022 significantly influenced their choice. This series featured both Test matches and limited-overs games and marked Australia’s return to Pakistan after more than two decades. Greenburg viewed this trip positively regarding the warmth of reception and safety measures provided. Additionally, he commended Pakistan for effectively organizing the ICC Champions Trophy.

Moreover, Greenburg showed enthusiasm for increasing cricketing interactions between the two countries. Both boards, he mentioned, are seeking opportunities to incorporate Test matches and limited-overs fixtures into their calendars. Additionally, he pointed out the potential for top Pakistani cricketers to participate in the Big Bash League, potentially enhancing the competition’s standard.
