What Trump's Medical Records Unveil About His Assault on U.S. Health Infrastructure

On Monday, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow and former U.S. Commissioner of Food and Drugs Dr. David Kessler provided an extensive analysis of President Donald Trump’s actions and statements. most recent Physical examinations reveal details about the president’s personal well-being — and provide insights into the overall condition of America’s healthcare system.

According to Maddow's reporting, Kessler examined the report from President Trump’s yearly health check-up from last month. He pointed out that the president is undergoing "intensive lipid-lowering therapy," which may lower his significant risk of heart disease.

Maddow characterized the president’s state of health as a "success story."

“The president of the United States appears to be approving his own health through access to great medical care and great medical science, that’s what he gets,” Maddow explained. “Simultaneously, his administration is doing so much to hurt regular Americans’ opportunity to achieve those same good health outcomes the same way.”

The host from MSNBC further pointed out that the Trump administration had "cut" the funding for the National Institutes of Health and caused significant reductions in staff leaving workers at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration feeling shaken up.

Maddow explained Trump is “personally benefiting in his own health” while “simultaneously … destroying that infrastructure for everyone else.”

Kessler agreed, telling Maddow Trump “is destroying those institutions that gave birth to the treatments” he’s using in his own medical care.
