Volunteers still needed to assist with recovery efforts in Scott County
Scott County, Mo. (KFVS) - As many continue to recover following the devastating tornado in Scott County, organizers are reaching out for help with recovery and relief efforts.
This includes debris removal, distributing supplies, shelter operations or providing emotional support.
“We have a volunteer line open with a phone number where you can call me directly and we will get you set up on a time to volunteer,” said Angie Rodgers, executive director of the Scott County 911 Emergency Service Board.

Starting tomorrow at 9 a.m., organizers will be set up on Sloanville Drive to assist those wanting to volunteer.
Before volunteering, you must sign a waiver so you can begin helping with cleanup.
While homes have been destroyed and many families are displaced, Rodgers says it is good to see the community come together during such a difficult time.
“It’s actually been very humbling to see everyone in the community come together. We live in a very diverse area, but it doesn’t matter anymore. Everybody’s coming together and helping and it’s such a huge relief to the people that were directly impacted out there that they see the citizens from all over coming together wanting to help them any way that they can.”
Rodgers said another meeting will be held on Friday at noon at Old Bethel Baptist Church in Sikeston to discuss long-term recovery for those impacted by the tornado.
