Unconscious Man Rescued From Metro Subway Tracks After Fall

LOS ANGELES, CA – On Saturday afternoon, emergency services responded to a downtown Metro station where a man had fallen onto the subway tracks and lost consciousness. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Lyndsey Lantz, rescuers managed to save him.

The man fell from the platform at the Bunker Hill Station after 1 p.m. Saturday. First responders first ensured the tracks were de-energized before lifting the man from the tracks and treating him on scene, the LAFD said.

He rapidly became aware, as the firefighters mentioned, and did not sustain any injuries, reported Metro.

"We thank the LAFD for their rapid response and remind all passengers to stay alert, stay behind the yellow lines and use caution while near rail lines," Metro said in a statement.
