Police: Key Suspect Arrested in Cocoa Man's Beating Death

An individual under scrutiny has been detained as law enforcement seeks motivation behind the assault that led to the death of a Cocoa resident early on May 11. Authorities are still examining witness accounts and additional information related to the case.

The deadly assault occurred at 11 a.m. close to the Affordable Living Center located at 900 Friday Road, according to Cocoa police reports.

A person who called 911 informed the dispatchers that an unidentified male was under attack amid a brawl with multiple individuals occurring at the location.

Officers arrived within minutes and found the badly injured man, who was treated at the scene and transported to an unspecified hospital. The man was later pronounced dead by doctors, Cocoa police reported.
