Police arrest man wanted in University District stabbing

Police arrested a man suspected of stabbing an 18-year-old in the neck Wednesday afternoon in Seattle’s University District, according to the University of Washington.
University police took the suspect into custody without incident around 6 p.m. near Cowen Park, in the 200 block of Brooklyn Avenue NE.
The stabbing occurred near the University District Farmers Market in the 5200 block of 15th Street Northeast. The suspect fled south and was last seen near the intersection of University Way Northeast and Northeast 47th Street continuing south, according to an alert from the University of Washington.
The suspect is described as having medium-to-short hair and wearing a black shirt, gray sweatpants and Vans shoes with gray lettering.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, according to the Seattle Fire Department.
