OCPD: Man in custody after entering church with gun, making threats

Oklahoma City police officials said a man armed with a gun walked into a church Wednesday night and threatened people inside.

Officials said officers were called to the church in the 2700 block of Shartel Avenue after receiving calls.

Officials confirmed that the man threatened people inside the church with the gun, and that there was a short chase after officers arrived. The man was taken into custody shortly after. He was taken to a local hospital for an evaluation.

No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported in the incident.
