J-Star Ministries supports Missouri tornado victims

Florissant, Missouri (KLTV) - With reports of an estimated five thousand buildings damaged in St. Louis, an East Texan loaded up his trailer with supplies and headed north. And the location of his supply drops are mandated by the weather.
J-Star Ministries Founder Patrick Johnson heard about Friday’s tornado in Missouri, and he made plans for a delivery of immediate needs items. He said his planned stop gave him a bad feeling, so he looked for an alternate location.
“You know you can Google drop off locations and track and network people that are doing it, and they were giving out directly to the people. And so, I went there to the YMCA in Florissant, Missouri and connected with some people there. And it was the best thing I could have done,” Johnson said.
He said getting there was slow, but he finally made it and:
“They probably had about 150 plus volunteers, people from all over. And they were so excited to see that I was from Texas. And they were very appreciative,” Johnson said.
The supplies were unloaded and handed out to many in need who were surrounded by:
“A lot of devastation. And it was sporadic. You know, just spots here and there,” Johnson said.
He says he saw linemen at work and neighbors helping neighbors. In a neighborhood called Fountain Park he saw a:
“Beautiful church but unfortunately portions of it had been destroyed,” Johnson said.
But his purpose is not to see areas destroyed by storms. It’s to help those in need.
“I’m from Texas. I want to make sure that I represent well. And the people were pleased,” Johnson said.
A trailer full of supplies delivered, he headed home to Harleton to prepare for his next delivery.
Johnson tells us this was relief trip number 67, delivering immediate needs supplies to areas devastated by natural disasters, and he will continue his work.
