East Tennessee K-9 gets body armor thanks to donation
ONEIDA, Tenn. (WVLT) - A K-9 with the Oneida Police Department is getting some extra protection.
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a non-profit that provides bullet and knife protective vests to K9 units all over the United States.
OPD K-9 Jax is expecting to get one in the next 10 weeks.
“We are so thankful for this and so thankful for their support,” OPD officials said.
Each vest is valued at $1,800. It weighs about 4 to 5 lbs. and comes with a five-year warranty.
