‘Castle Impossible’ Stars Give Fans a Glimpse at Unseen Part of the Chateau

Daphne Reckert and Ian Figueira have joined HGTV to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at what it's really like to inherit and renovate a 500-year-old chateau on Castle Impossible . After just four episodes, they've captivated fans as they've updated the bell tower bedroom, the kitchen in the hunter's lodge, a bathing chamber, and an office and sitting room. But, with dozens of rooms and several outbuildings, Daphne and Ian have only scratched the surface.

Before of the latest episode, the couple shared a sneak peek of the episode on Instagram. The photo shows a hidden blue door surrounded by stately pillars. They wrote, "The beautiful pillars you see here are on the right wing of the castle and they frame the blue door of the chapel! The terrace up above is where we will be in tonight’s episode!!😉"

One fan commented, "I didn’t know there was a chapel 💒," and Daphne and Ian replied, "There is! The ceiling is hand painted and original 😊" The chateau serves as a wedding venue, so it makes sense that there would be a chapel on the property.

The couple shared before-and-after photos of the sitting room and office and wrote, "Since this portion of the castle was added in the 1880’s, we decided to go with an Art Nouveau color pallet of dusty rose and sage green to reflect the original style of that time. Daphne upcycled antique panelling and the gorgeous mirror! Ian built paneling with a traditional flare and salvaged an antique oak fireplace to replace the damaged one from the 1980’s. Bringing these rooms and the beautiful terrace back to life has been such an exciting experience! We have been enjoying them ever since! 🥰"

Fans flooded the couple with messages of encouragement. One wrote, "The real treasure is how you are pouring your heart and soul into revamping this amazing château." Another commented, "Stunning ❤️❤️. Love the show. Best on HGTV now."

New episodes of Castle Impossible air on Tuesday nights on HGTV and stream on Max and Discovery+. If you can't get enough of Daphne and Ian's story, follow them on follow them on Youtube for more about their life at The Chateau De Lesigny.
