PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say a 12-year-old boy was shot and killed by his older brother inside a Philadelphia home on Wednesday night.

Investigators say the child was fatally shot by his 14-year-old brother on the 800 block of Brooklyn Street in West Philadelphia.

What we know

Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to a home on the 800 block of Brooklyn Street around 9 p.m. for reports of a shooting.

Police found a 12-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, and rushed him to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where he died.

Investigators believe the child, Nashon Thomas, was shot and killed by his 14-year-old brother.
